Is is normal to collect pokemon cards

I love collecting them, and i have a pretty sizable amount. I dont play the tcg though, but i love to organize them by type, set, an art. Im an artist and love looking at all the art on the cards, especially the super rare ones. My mom hates that i collect them and calls them a waste of money. It makes me feel like crap because it something that excites me and makes me happy. What do you guys think?

    Your mom likes to collect things too or is happy with doing certain things, right? So she basically does the same. Everybody needs their isle of happiness and money is just money

    That's a cool hobby. Pokemon cards have great arts for sure. I recall I used to be very impressed with the Ex version of cards because they look fucking badass and shiny like Mewtwo Ex when I was a teenager. Don't give a fuck on what people think about your harmless hobby and keep on collecting them to your heart's content.

    I mean, that's like 50% of the things you can do with them. As long as you're responsible with your time and money, it sounds like a great hobby - whatever makes you happy. Tell your mom that it's better than doing drugs.

    It's good to have a hobby. Ignore your mother's hate on it. Seriously. Everyone has a hobby. I'm sure she wouldnt be happy if someone put her down for hers. I know people who gamble, collect and so forth. Do what makes you happy as long as you're still taking good care of yourself. I collect pokemon cards myself just for the art etc. I dont play the game
