I have an issue that I need to accept I guess. I work with a guy who sleeps on the job....
We work at a hospital... I am the secretary and he among 5 others are techs and we are resposible for hospital equipment repairs. This person - who I may add is over weight - likes to eat - and is basically lazy. He is always tired!!! Gee I wonder why. He was not like this when he first started...Now!! Forget it!!! Some of us offered to help him with stuff- such as preparing paper work - which is a huge part of the job - such as ordering parts for hospital equipment repairs....I myself have gone above MY limits =- and has completed the paperwork - to LESSEN his load. Now I am at my wits end...when I page him HE NEVER answers!!! Staff has told me he was seen sleeping in the doctors lounge. When confronted by the shop super. as to the reasons he does not respond to the pages...he lies and says the pager is on his desk - WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY AT HOME!!! But if it is time for lunch - HE IS ON THE MONEY!!!Come on this dude gets paid good money! And sleeps on the job. What pisses me off the most...nothing gets done about it....
Not to mention - if he is behind with work it affects the team..NOT JUST HIM...he does not seem to care..I DO and I need advice how to deal with this...every day I just want to slap him in the back of the head and yell out "WAKE UP"!!! Does this make me any angry person...or is the situation at hand creating a monster???

    If he worked in my ER I'd fire him so fast his head would spin. Use your phone and get pics/video if him sleeping and alert his boss.

    It was nice of you to try to lessen his load, but why did you? He'd still be lazy.... & overweight. I'm surprised his job hasn't forced him to lose wait. I hope they fired his ass!

    Yeah - you got me - I actually live on food from drive thru's - and hopefully one day my career will progress and I may even be able to work in one, I hope :)

    Uh yeah....Geneva, you sound like a real gem....
    Complaining - yeah when someone is slacking and getting paid...but you probably do the same thing....and I BET you frequent DRIVE THRU's as well!!

    It is a matter of time now that the Director himself caught him Friday afternoon sleeping at his work bench!!!! I will sit back and enjoy the show!!!
