Is in normal that i like experiencing mania

Sometimes when feel really really down, I experience mania. When it happens I feel incredible, like I could do anything. I don't do anything stupid though, and I'm usually sane enough not to freak people out. I guess I'm bipolar, and it doesn't suck as bad as I thought.

      • You can't kill the mania!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yeah, you'll notice that many people in the arts have Bi polar. Because ALOT of great work is done by those in the manic state. They do have an edge on creativity, because mania brings about ultimate confidence in their abilities, and they get results as a result.

I love Mania. I love the word, feeling it, just everything about it.

  • It's normal. I enjoy a lot of my crazy features as well although there are just as many I could do without.

Overall insanity has made me more creative and if being normal got rid of the positive traits I would rather stay insane.

Over the last few years I have been experimenting with different psych med combinations to get rid of the undesirable symptoms while keeping the good ones. I think it's working well currently.

Totes normal. Apparently I have bipolar and borderline personality disorder according to the doctor. Whatev. I was hospitalized for 2 weeks in the psychiatric unit bc I was going through a manic episode. It felt amazing. I was sooo happy 24/7, I would sing and dance and drew peace signs all over the dry erase board in the room where meeting thingies took place. I was way too outgoing. Thinking back on it, I was also probably really annoying to the nurses and other patients. I didn't realize how hyper I was but everyone else saw it when they visited me. Idk what triggered the mania but I have not experienced another since. I tried to self induce one and failed. Now I just live my life everyday normally, stopped taking meds as per my own request and I feel okay. I have learned to cope and deal with my emotions. It took a LONG time, but now I feel I don't meds. All about self control.

    • You call that an insult? I know you can do better than that.

It's not an insult. It's a sincere inquiry.

No problemo, and thanks for the apology.

To be quite honest I've had instances where I enjoyed being feverish. I went to doctor for bronchitis a little over a month ago, I was running a low grade fever of about 99° to 100° and after picking up my prescriptions I did some lollygagging; running pointless errands. I felt so much more alive than usual.
