I think you're looking for a specific answer here. If you feel healthy and comfortable at this weight, then you shouldn't have to change it. If you don't feel comfortable, then you know what needs to be done.
There are lots of answers to this. Is it common? Yes. Is it unattractive? Not to me. Is it potentially dangerous to your health? Yes. Should people be insulting you about it? No.

Wow, you just named my exact weight and height, and I know I'm fat or at least a bit of a chub chub.
I am 5´3 and I am 111 lbs and I am ok. But then again, every body is different, maybe you have more muscle, who knows.
It's just a little bit more than what I would consider I perfectly healthy weight. I'm sure you absolutely beautiful though. I know of girls much heavier than that and I would consider them to be some of the most beautiful. It doesn't matter how much you weigh as long as you are healthy and happy. If you notice that your eating patterns aren't good and that you don't exercise, bump it up a bit. Even simple things like walking, taking the stairs etc help with weight loss. Or join a dance class with friends (this is super fun!) and try to replace most junk food with healthy food :)
well...thats not soo bad..i wouldnt trust that body mass index thing....my numbers would say that im obese.....but if your going to exercise....4 the love of god DONT...DO NOT..do tons of cardio...go for some weight resistance with all that cardio....trust me,your not gonna get all disgustingly bulky from lifting a little weight...nothing takes more calories than muscle growth,and with a little muscle u will burn more calories all the time...i personally suggest doing weighted squats and lower body stuff...so your butt will get big,firm and sexy
i know.....most girls dont like 2 much "muscle" on them...but muscles burn fat....so someone that has more muscle will ultimatlely burn more calories doing anything....even just standing there...so if you had to add muscle somewhere...u may as well put it on your butt

thank you :) I get stuck when I look at myself in the mirror though.........no one has a straight answer of fat skinny etc anymore skinny and fat seemed to be based on societies guidelines and that's just not fair......but my mom and bf loves me so I am not too down about my weight just.....other things.
...? I don't understand people's extreme reactions. 160lbs is not that heavy at all. Considering you're 5'3", yes, it's a little overweight, but WOW people are acting like you said you were 300lbs.
I see a LOT of people from the UK here... my best guess is that they just don't understand the conversion or something.
160 is just a little overweight, but certainly not nearly as bad as they're making it out to be. There's another girl who's 5'5" and 130 and feels fat?!?!? The moral quality of people here, and the way society makes people think about overweight people is sick.
You're beautiful. If you exercise a bit to lose some weight I'm sure you'll feel even better, and not even wonder if it's normal. But seriously, don't let the negative comments get you down now, people are asshats.

160 isn't that fat!! Christ almighty! I'm not trying to be all sugary sweet (pun not intended) Health is important, but this slew of reactions is truly bizarre. I just don't think you guys have very good spacial / visual cognition if you think her weight is such a dire cause for alarm.

I recommend you try being more physically active and watch your calories. Try to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight. Drink water instead of soda, limit or cut out fast foods and fried foods and switch red meat for fish or poultry.
Many people are overweight but that does not make it okay. It is best to get a kickstart on your health habits now before it gets any worse. I know this is easier said than done 0_o
Only a pic can tell but, if you're like most people, you'd look really big a that weight with a big belly. Unless it's alot of muscle or really huge boobs.
You sound kind of chubby, but I wouldn't worry about it. Especially if it's evenly distributed on your body.
I think you are overweight. I am 160 and 5 foot 6 and I think I'm a bit chubby, so you probably are too.

It is true that you may be beautiful and a nice person. It is also true that you face very real health problems if you do not lose weight. In fact, you will likely gain more weight if you do not change your lifestyle. At 18 your metabolism is still higher than it will be a few years from now.
I'm a 5'11 28 year old man whose weight has fluctuated from 165-220 pounds over the last decade. I can tell you that I feel much healthier at a lower weight. I am currently around 200 and have high cholesterol at a young age.
Lose the weight now, trust me.
