I don't post much but I do feel like some comments are a bit harsh.

What if OP is just a lonely person who has it hard talking to people irl and just wants some attention? I'd hate to be in that spot.

I feel like a lot of people, not only here, are very impatient and don't really try and understand others. Ofc there are trolls, but the chance of hurting someone who just wanted to vent or tried to come up with an interesting story all to get some up votes isn't worth it, imo.

    If OP is just a lonely person looking for attention, then their post is most likely crap. People just trying "to come up with an interesting story" don't belong on Is It Normal. Many of the people on here are just idiots asking for validaton. I don't understand your point of view.

      I hate it when someone asks if something is normal, and gets really angry, indignant and booty hurt when he, or she gets told that it's indeed not normal.

      I totally get what you're saying. I had the same view as you until a few months ago. I came across this well written post that seemed kinda fishy to me, so I figured I'll just chat OP up a bit. See what's on their mind. Thing is, that OP came across kinda sad and lonely. Their post wasn't offensive either, it was just a regular post. Could've been real even.

      Anyways, OP really came across as sad and lonely and I just felt sorry for them.

      Maybe I'm just too naive.

    Just like in real life you have all types. Know it all's, people in pain trying to hurt others, haters (usually jealous), The entitled thinkers, wanna b's, People with mental health issues and people that are genuinely nice. Lot of people with agendas; like someone that loves whiskey may go around to a post about how bad whiskey is and be really aggressive, making the op think "what the hell is up their ass"

    I'm all in favor of brutal honesty. Often, commenters are brutal without honestly considering different perspectives of the problem or issue.

    I don't know if yes is people are mean or no is people are too mean. People can be assholes but people can also be crybabies. Is it normal I wish you had a middle choice in your poll?

    I'm guilty of scanning and not reading. However I don't think anyone should come on this site with any kind of serious intention of getting real responses. This site is strictly entertainment only.

    Some commenters are too harsh but more so to other commenters than the OP and there aren't too many of them. Overall I would say no.

    Yeah agreed but people will say anything when they're anonymous. That's when peoples real self comes through and a lot of people are very bitter and only spreads negativity, unfortunately. The good thing about the internet is we can block them on there, imagine if we could block those people in real life. :D
    If someone writes a post looking for attention they most likely need support especially if they feel lonley. You could ignore it if you're too bitter to write something helpful but there always has to be someone pushing those people down even further. I don't see why. They hardly need anymore shit.

    The only complaint I have is this site is anonymous people asking people their opinions, but when you give it there's usually someone triggered about it and they downvote and argue about why your opinion is wrong. That seems to be the case with me.
