Lately my guy friend has started putting his arm around me a lot, resting his head on my shoulder, rubbing my arm/back with his hand, and facebook chatting me the instant I sign on. Does he like me?

I hug my female friends hello and goodbye, and occasionally there's a kiss on the cheek. I think that's about the level which signifies friendship. Your friend has gone quite a bit further. If he's straight, then I'm guessing he's interested in you.

Depends how he acts with other girls? Some guys feel confident around girls naturally so can act all at home with all of his girl friends, but if hes acting especially nice just to you then maybe he likes you. Compare how he acts towards you to how he acts towards others. It might be that he's going through a tough time and just wants support, or that he's finding his feet and likes being able to talk to a girl, or it might be that he genuinely likes you.

there's an easier way to find out... ask him!!! or you could say to him "im so glad we're together". lol that is sooo gunna freak him out weather or not he likes you... but it will lead to you finding out.
Hm, if you're interested in him, I would suggest possibly doing something cute to him in a slightly-more-than-just-friends way and see how he reacts. (maybe if he puts his head on your shoulder, tilt your head to gently touch his?) If he is drawn into it then I think he might like you!
MY guy friends would never touch me like that unless they were interested in me.
