Is he a flirt/player? or is he just a really nice guy??

I started talking to this guy a few weeks ago. And he seems like a really nice guy. Everyone seems to like him and he's always smiling...he's also so polite to everyone and funny and adorable. BUT there are a few red flags that kinda make me want to run the other way...
1)He only has girl friends - We're in college and he says that he has a group of close friends at home that he calls his brothers but here I ONLY see him hang out with girls. Seriously, I'll be surprised to see him around a guy thats not his brother.
2)He's almost too perfect. But he's so flirtatious - I've seen the way he acts around other girls and it really really flirty. On top of that every time we talk it's like he tells me what he thinks I should hear. And I can't tell if he genuinely likes me or if his just being a flirt.
3)He never has time to hangout. I went out with him and his friends once and since then I've invited him places but he always cancels at the last minute or he says he's busy with something. However I did see him hanging out with this girl one night when i was walking back from the library and when i said hi he was super awkward about it. anyway if i learned anything is that a guy that genuinely likes a girl will make time to hangout with her. he never does but he texts me all the time...which leads me to the 4th red flag
4) He'll text me everyday for like a week...then ignore me for another week. Then suddenly he's back with cute little comments like "I've been thinking about you". wtf is up with that?

So what do you think?? Should I stay away from him??
