Is coming out worth it?

I've been hiding my sexuality for a few months now and I am unsure if I should come out. I'm bisexual and I'm scared of losing friendships and family bonds. What are the benifits of coming out? And if you are an out of the closet gay/bi person, how did you feel about coming out, and how did people react

I just don't talk about it unless someone asks \(._.)/ When people found out they were just like "Meh. K then" and that was it.

I say don't bother. I've got a few bisexual friends and none of them officially 'came out'. It was just sort of implied by their behaviour. So it might be better to avoid making a big deal out of it...
    *I don't know what I'm talking about*

A lot of lgbt people don't make it obvious, I find it a little offensive to say that you can just tell by looking at someone, admittedly occasionally you might have an idea but that's in no way true if the general community

The behaviour I meant were things like talking about being attracted to the same sex, going out with the same sex etc.
If someone close to you is bisexual; you're probably going to know unless they are really trying to hide it.

So I didn't mean that it's always obvious just by looking at someone.

You have to be you at some point. But you do not have to push yourself out of the closet. You siad you have only been experiencing for a few month's, try it out for a little. If your comfortable with hidding it around your family for a little while do that. But you sorta want to come out at SOME point you dont have too... Okay well i hope this helps somewhat.
Good luck pm if u need anything

I wouldn't do it, unless you want to jump headfirst into the dating scene. Otherwise, it will just make things awkward or alienate you from your loved ones. I mean, I came out five years ago, I still live at home, and they're very religious so a girlfriend is out of the question. Really, if I could do it over, I would have stayed in the closet. It's your choice, but I'm giving you a heads up. :)

I've come out to some good friends, but not my family. My family are religious nuts so I don't plan on ever telling them.

        The whole idea is laughable.

It seems that sodomite faggots like nothing better than to give thumbs down to anyone who speaks up against their revolting practices. Maybe it makes them feel better. As nice as someone ramming their prostrate. Guess what faggots, you will always be despised and will never silence the revulsion at your sick practices. Your thumbs down have zero impact as no one cares what you think. Yet you seem to get offended at what normal people think of you.

We've been in the closet that's why, and you make a good point about staying in.

Being a homosexual shaves many, many, many years off of your life.

In anyway you take it, let the truth be told. Sodomy leads to death, the way of Jesus christ leads to everlasting life. Don't live a worthless life because of you fleshy desires, it will destroy you in no time. Jesus loves you, Repent!

Go for it. But make sure you have some kind of support system, first. Also,Be prepared for some people not to be very understanding , and even ignorant.Especially, if you live in a small town or the bible belt.

Some people like you are not fit to give advice on this forum, This is sodomy and should be punishable under the law. God hates sodomy, must you keep getting him angry? He can destroy you with just the breath from his nostril, Tell the devil no no, its not just about the bible. check nature, have you ever seen two male dogs on each other? then why are so many humans retard? Bro you need to know what you are saying ok!

Penguins and rams, as well as other animals have completely monogamous gay relationships.

If anything, consider yourself lucky that you identify as bi and not gay. Dating is a numbers game. If you like men and women to a similar degree then in all likelihood you'll end up seeing someone of the opposite sex.

My advice is not to come out until you're seriously dating someone of the same sex. If possible, wait until you are financially independent before doing so. Prepare to be alienated from your family and treated differently by your peers.

Even though society as a whole is much more accepting of same-sex relations now, homophobia will inevitably rear its ugly head.

I don't understand this "coming out" bullshit. Is it supposed to announce how HIV positive it is to be gay?

Being gay will shave many many many years off of your life.

It took a glance at your profile to determine what level of swill you are and quite frankly, it's you who should have many years shaved off their life. Never, ever reproduce.

    • Being gay is not a choice. The reason people 'come out' is because society automatically assumes everyone is straight

Why call them gay? what is so gay about being an immoral disgusting faggot? The bible calls them sodomites as that is what they are. Gay, homosexual, alternative lifestyle etc are just terms of Political Correctness disease, refusing to call a spade a spade for fear of offending the spade or any other implement.

Sodomites, faggots, bumchums, perverts, queers, prancing fairies etc any such term is more accurate.

These sick creatures need to get back in the closet and do their perversions out of sight of society if their acts are going to be allowed to exist.

Homosexuality is a disease as it was in 1973 after it got removed from the APAs DSM. I'm with the Pentagon on this one they still define it as a DISEASE

Homosexuality was more than a disease. It used to be a criminal act. It should have remained so. It is a disgusting immoral act, and the bible states sodomites should be put to death. I agree with the bible on this one.

Interestingly enough, the bible says nothing about Lesbians.

There was a test conducted where vehement homophobes (such as yourself) were hooked up to a machine to measure arousal, then shown gay porn.
And all of them had visible erections.
I think the homophobes on here doth protest too much.

I told my parents when I was 13 at the dinner table, and my parents reply was "we've known since you were three"
And it was never an issue.
I realize I'm fortunate, and if your family or friends reject you for this, than they never were.
If you are worried that they may disown you... don't do it till your older.
(Though this post is probably several years old by now)
Either way I hope you are doing well.

Where do you get sucking a cock out of it?
If you're fantasizing about three year olds doing that, then you need to take care of your own issues in life first.

It's about how you feel inside about being with someone.
The way a straight guy feels for a woman, is able to fall in love ect. I can feel that way for both sexes.
It's a choice as much as being straight is a choice for you.
