i used to think it was bad then i realized i can essentially say what ever the hell i wanted and people would automatically assume im being sarcastic..its halarious
"does this make me look fat?" "yeah..you look like a hamburger factory. -_-" "LOL omg your crazy haaaahahahaha"
goes something like that, and theyre none the wiser that i actually really meant it
i'm monotone due to something called "flat affect", which could be something you're experiencing. if not, it's still completely normal and there's nothing wrong with it! it's just that we don't see many monotone voices outside of "character voices" in the media, which doesn't accurately represent the number of monotone people out there because they're primarily used for comedy. your voice and speech patterns are unique and perfect the way they are - embrace it!
I'm a bit monotone myself, and sometimes it's difficult to communicate with people when I need help or something important needs to be said.
So I always try hard to change but it sounds extremely exaggerated, reaching to a point to sound like a cartoonish character, but at least people can understand me better than before.
Try to exaggerated a little bit more. People will find extremely weird but they get used to it at some point.
