Is anyone else afraid to use real pictures of your face on socialmedia

I honestly have really low self esteem now, And I deleted every pic I took of myself and I deleted my facebook profile. I hardly ever use my face as a profile photo on ANYTHING, and I rarely ever use my real name on any of my accounts. I dont know if its just because I have low self esteem or not? I used to not care and I use to take selfies all day erryday, now im very private and less social and I dont have ANY social networks. All I have now is Kik And Skype.

    I normally use the ugliest picture of me that I can find. So when people see me in real life their not disappointed.

      Dude. Most people aren't that good looking. Being "Average" is not the same as being "averagely attractive", so I don't know if you're actually really good looking or just average but I am sure you don't look as bad as you think. People tend to think that if others don't go crazy for their looks or say they are attractive that they must be extremely ugly or something, when in reality most of the time they are average.

      I kind of messed that up and may of sounded harsh but the point is that if you want to post your picture, go for it. You won't look that bad, I am sure. :)

        I've been a face model for the make up guys doing horror films. Like I said, the stuff of nightmares. Be overjoyed there are no pictures of me. Even dear old mummy couldn't bring herself to take a pic of her little monster.
        Also, see post above; "I hate taking pictures!!"

          Well I'm sure the make up made you look terrible. You also have to remember pictures don't represent your face gracefully. :)

    Yes. I have before but, only on here (with effect) and on another site (also with effect). It's not a self-esteem issue for me. More like: 1. I worry about being recognised/protecting my identity, and 2. I like the mystery that surrounds not sharing your photo. (3. Also, taking photos of my face tends to weird me out).

    Nearly all of the people I communicate with on social media do know me in real life so it is a non issue. I use to post my picture here but got tired of people being wankers about it.

    I'm currently only afraid to post a picture of my face on this site. Places like FaceBook, Photobucket, and Meez I have used a photo of my face.
