Is 40 years old - old age?

My cousin just turned 40 and keeps saying he's an old man now, he shouldn't have fun. So when I ask him out he says he can't, he's too old, he even has said that he's and old fart.

Is this old age?

No old age is 50+ 4
No old age is 60+ 8
No old age is 70+ 7
No old age is 80+ 4
No old age is 90+ 2
No one is old 2

I would say old age is more like 65 or older.

Some people become boring at 40 and live another 40-50 years of boring life. Others have the time of their lives in their 40s and way beyond. You get to choose which you will be.

I think 40 is neither old nor young, it's middle aged, but being young isn't better, it's just being younger. If you're talking about looks, there are 20 year old drug addicts that look older/worse than some 40 year olds. If you're talking about brains, you only get wiser the older you get, and each generation's average IQ is less than the one before it. Physically, some young people are in terrible shape.

If you live a good, healthy life, there's little to fear with getting older. I think this generation of teenagers is absolutely OBSESSED with youth. The words youth/young are in SO many pop songs these days. People are having mental break-downs upon turning 20! Which is so weird, because most people are a lot better in every way at 20 than they were at 15.

The thing is, once you pass an age, it no longer matters a bit. So, why waste an entire year of your live worrying about turning some age? You never know when you'll lose something you now have, so you just have to live in the moment and appreciate it all now.
