Intrigued by serial killers..

Is this normal? I am totally intrigued whenever i hear on the news that someone was killed, and i dont feel bad for the people, and its really interesting to me, serial killers lately (for about a year) have fascinated me. I've watched youtube videos about serial killers, and it always intrigues me so much. Is it normal, anyone else have these feelings? I dont want to kill people, i just think of how intelligent the people are..

to never get caught, and to do such disgusting things, i told my mom that i thought it was intriguing and she just sneered and said "thats disgusting" and makes me feel like she dislikes me for it, i dont obsess, i just think watching videos and reading about their lives and what they've done is interesting, i hate how telling anyone face-to-face that you find killers interesting automatically makes people think "oh wow he must be obsessed, and thinks about murdering people!" NOT TRUE!

if you have a story post it!

Thanks

I think discovering about how serial killers are motivated and what loose screws they acquire is interesting to know not necessarily how many individuals they kill or how they die.

Has anyone heard of the documentary Burke and Hare the Body Merchants? I would like to see it and was wondering if it was similar to the recent Burke and Hare (2010) movie.

I am intrigued about what makes them tick but also agree that there is less of an emotional response when you hear about a victim of a serial killer rather than a one time loss. My heart hurts when I hear about just individuals but when taken as a caseload it becomes almost science

you can make a creer out of it make documentaries, write books, or even a writer for criminal minds. if ur not a serial killer its a great psycology field

Any tosser with a knife and some spare time can be serial killer. The only reason the majority get caught is because they keep leaving clues to taunt the polices. Somebody who truly wishes to hunt and kill must stay unnoticed. It is the mark of a professional that leaves no evidence. Because dissapearances are a much lower priority on the police list than murder. However it would be nice for certain people to die painfully and publicly.

I think it's normal that you're fascinated by them. I don't think it's normal that you don't feel bad for the people they kill.

well heres what you do. kill your mom. kill your friends. and kill yourself.
just kidding. its normal. why do you think scary movies are so popular. its one of those things people never want to admit. death is a part of life. and killing is supposed to be, but laws only enable a select few to partake in that luxury.

I do feel bad for the people, but I've always been interested in this as well. I guess it's not all that surprising that you don't feel bad for the people affected by the murder since many people are calloused nowadays, almost like a blanket of apathy. It's too much of an effort to give a shit. I speak for myself too.

    Anyway, you should take psychology.

I feel the same way, I find it so interesting. I always watch shows and videos about it and I feel nothing towards the victims. I say it's normal because not that many people have such a capability of getting away with, let alone murdering someone.

I%%u2019m exactly the same, murder, death, violence and serial killers fascinate me, so much so that I study them in college. There%%u2019s nothing wrong by being fascinated by them I think a large section of the population finds them interesting, that%%u2019s why the media reports about their cases and other cases with violence because it sells, and that tells me that there is nothing wrong in particular with wanting to know more about their lives and murders. Another thing is why should you feel bad for the victims, it%%u2019s not like you know them personally, you can feel slightly sorry for them, it doesn%%u2019t really make you evil and cruel.

But one thing I would advice you is not to tell anyone about your little obsession because people won%%u2019t react in a positive manner, they will automatically assume you%%u2019re a psycho.

By the way which serial killer do you find most intriguing/fascinating...

Yes. I don't know .. I feel pretty alienated because of it too. I used to make off-hand comments about it sometimes and I also got "that's sick" responses.

If someone's mind is unusual (different from the norm) enough that they want to kill people .. I definitely want to find out why. So I find out all about them. And sometimes they turn out to be just "crazy" or just violent, and kind of boring, and sometimes they turn out to be unbelievably complex and fascinating. I really can't get enough of the subject. I don't know why everyone doesn't feel this way. I also sympathize for a few of them. I'm not going to get into that because I feel really strongly about it and I'll get upset.
