Hi:
I am an international student in the US for my PhD degree, my oral English is bad, so it's hard for me to chase a American girl. My family is somewhat poor, so seldom Chinese girls here want to start relation with me. I have my hobbies, not a nerd or someone who does not like to talk with others, and I am also not a bad-looking guy, but it seems like I have no way to have a girlfriend(I never had before). So I am extremely afraid that I will be alone all of my life.

    Language is a large obstacle to get around. If you struggle to speak English, that's going to make it very difficult to have interesting conversations with English-speakers.

    Your written English seems good, though.

    Also, you say you have hobbies. Are they social hobbies? Do they allow you to meet new people, especially Americans? Otherwise, you could try pursuing a hobby that involves socialising with strangers - preferably one which appeals to girls as well as boys.

    Or if nothing else is working, try online. Since your written English is fine, you might have more luck on dating websites.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
    But it always confused me about where I can find a girlfriend. We (most of the chinese male PhD) have no way to contact with a girl. Our social circle is small because our job. I tried to create some ways, but it doesn't work..

          I know many Asian people who are a damn lot better than you, with your hate filled nasty accusations based on nothing but fearmongering and prejudice. Taking a leaf out of Abbott's book huh? Well that's something to aspire to...

          My cousin is a nurse who worked several years in aged care, specifically violent dementia patients. She never had a problem with colleagues based on race.

          I also know several Asian doctors and nurses who provide high quality care.

          And I did go to uni in my own country, thank you very much. As did my Asian doctor and nurse friends. They happen to be Australian, you see.
