Insane dream that makes no sense

I had the most bizarre dream. It was like “Tomb Raider” and “Star Wars” put together, only more insane. I was on some sort of space ship, as big as a city. I can’t remember who I was with, but we were collecting treasure-like objects. There were booby traps (like when I pick something up the walls start closing in on you). We walked into this dark room and there was a large block of metal dangling from a rope on the ceiling. Underneath it was an item that we obviously had to collect. One of the guys grabbed it and then the strangest thing began happening. The block of metal was a fake trap, but the real trap was scary. The walls began glowing bright orange and started closing in on us. We realised it was molten lava. Even the ceiling was lowering down on us. We sprinted out of that room faster than lightning. Someone had to grab my hand and pull me out faster. It didn’t stop in that one room. The lava was following us wherever we went. One guy and one girl panicked and tried to escape the lava by shutting themselves in this fridge-sized room, barely big enough for both of them. It was a big mistake. I could hear their screams as the lava covered the door they’d entered. There was no way out and I knew that the lava had killed them. The rest of us ran as fast as we could until one guy had an idea. He remembered seeing a room built to hold people safely inside and able to tolerate extreme heat and cold. So we ended up going there. We made sure that all the doors were secured so that the lava would stay out of the room. We were still anxious though, having to sit at the back of the room. We all felt boiling hot from being so close to the lava, but luckily there were freezers at the back of the room. We kept the freezer doors open and sat beside them to cool off. After that, we tried to find out how much the lava had spread since we’d locked ourselves in. To our surprise, the lava had drained away. The floors were still hot from the lava. Luckily, there were railings on the ceiling (I‘ll never know why though). We had to use them like monkey bars “Tomb Raider” style, to avoid getting burned by the floors. We came to the room where the lava began flowing from and we saw where the guy and girl had been trapped. The door had melted away and their bodies were burnt charcoal black. I thought I was going to be sick. We were equally stunned to see that the room where it all began wasn’t even there. All we found was a burned black wall where the door was. I can’t remember much after this, but I woke up shortly afterwards anyway. I don't know where these dreams are coming from, but they're sometimes scarier than the horror films I watch. Either I'm slowly going insane or I have a perfect imagination for writing fiction stories. Does anyone else have dreams this weird?

  • Totally normal.

Some people remember their dreams and some don't.
We all have several each night, whether we remember them or not, and it's normal to have an intense one every now and then.

    Enjoy the ride. :)

I use my dreams like that for plot ideas, a lot of writers do. I have lived through every scary/weird situation I can imagine in my dreams and they are always extremely linear and feel/smell/sound real. Its hard to shake them when I wake up but their just dreams. It is totally normal for creative & intelligent people to have vivid dreams and even die in them. You don't really die in real life so no danger there :)

Don't be scared! I have dreams like that too. They're scary when you're dreaming them but when you wake up your like, "Wow, what a hilarious dream!" It's actually funny, and normal.

Impressive how you could remember the details, I wish I had a similar dream like that and I don't see in any way that this is insane. I mean the creators of both obviously dreamed about it or imagined about it so why would it be weird for you to? Fiction is cool and more people need it other wise lots of people would find this world boring. Ever think about making a movie or publishing a book? You got the brain for it.
