Innovative housing tax idea

If you agree vote Yay, if not vote Nay

Now the biggest issue with income is trying to pay rent. House or apartment is very expensive and most people under middle class simply cant afford it. Now we break it up into Low income, Middle class, Upperclass and rich but its a little more complicated than that. There is more than one middle class, more than one poor class, and more than one rich class. Here is how it goes.

Dirt poor
Making 6-9$ an hour
(you better be a highschooler looking for extra funds)
If not you are getting tips, or are a poor immigrant

Very poor 10-13$ an hour
(Can support yourself with 2 other room mates)

Poor 15$ an hour
(Can just barely support yourself)
If you are married though you are probobly living the life of a Low middle class family.

Low Middle Class

19-25$

Have some left over to do fun stuff, While still having enough to pay your bills

30$ up

Medium middle class
(What we think of as middle class)
Your mom and dad probobly own a business
You get name brand clothes, you can throw away money whenever you want(Not rich but richer than most)

35$ an hour

Higher middle class, you can probobly afford a home near the lake

40-50$ an hour

Upper class

(Probably higher management job at office job)
That or you went to college

Than we get into Rich which we already knew there was levels of but since none of us are near that level we would have no concept of the difference anyways

Billionaire
Millionaire
Trillionaire

Now what I had the idea of doing would be to scrap Welfare and get rid of it all together. After which we implement a housing TAX SYSTEM. Basically you will get housing on how much we tax you but since we tax based on your income, and not just give a lump sum of what everyone MUST pay that means everyone will be able to afford housing.

People who want a better house can offer a higher percentage of thier paycheck. Like lets say someone making 40$ an hour, they can get a better house if they say instead of 10% they want to pay 25% of their paycheck.

So we can offer people plans and based on how much they want to get taxed determined what kind of property they get, and this will be determined by how much each person can afford, not just a lump sum, so we dont have to worry about 20 people cramped into one apartment since they make a very poor job wage and this is the only way they can afford ANYTHING! Which does seem to be common in the Ghetto.

Now it will go like this

Basic
10% of paycheck
Ideal for single persons living alone

12%
Ideal for two single people living together

17%
Ideal for family's
With 2 decent sized rooms, and one Master bedroom and den

20%
Ideal for large groups of people living together
(Meaning very large houses with a lot of room)

35%
Luxury extravagant homes

Now realistically there is nothing to a property. Its just a piece of land you bought. Now a lot of times housing is often determined by atmosphere and how good the location is. It does not matter if anyone can actually afford rent, you will pay it or you get out. People with lower incomes will often group together in order to pay for housing/rent and sometimes to save money, they will get places that can not hold all of them. We have a lot of places that help homeless and give homeless food stamps. We also try to remedy this by saying all places should pay 20$ an hour for minimum wage workers but that would destroy jobs. What we should be looking at is the major issue we all face together. That is the cost of housing in comparison to how much people are actually being paid. If people are not being paid a lot, why would you make the cost of housing so extremely high? That is just asking for homeless people.

If we did this we would successfully bring up all the lower class. Since instead of spending all that money on rent they can never afford, they are spending it on other things.

Now after we have eliminated all the people who are struggling to pay bills I also believe we should implement the next bill.

One which says that helps all 18 year olds get jobs regardless of background. If we drop the amount of money people have to spend on finding a house, they will have a lot left in their pocket. Which means they have more to spend on anything else, like at the store. The more money is spend that means supply and demand goes up and what else goes up when supply and demand is High? Jobs.

So this will raise the living quality of everyone, this will end homelessness, it will create a better job market, and bring us back from the already suffering economy.

It is standard that 30% of one's paycheck should go to housing.
I think the bigger problem is that most people refuse to live within their means. They've got to have the newest Iphone, widescreen TV with a million channel cable, super fast internet and a car they certainly can't afford. It's all about status and looks and showing off.
Any cheap $49.99 burner phone would do but no, they've got to have the newest Iphone at $499.99 a whack.
And what's wrong with sharing a place until you get a bit more financially secure? Right after high school I had a 5 bed room place that I shared with 6 or 7 others my age. We didn't even start out as friends, but we ended up that way.
If one has no credit cards, no extravagant toys when a cheapie will do and lives within their means, I don't think it would be necessary to change anything.

Why is there no working class in the USA? Roughly, middle class is the class between working and upper classes and I don't understand where the working class has gone

What about people who already own their own homes?
