Inn for a man to have whiskers for facial hair at 19 years of age?

Does anyone know a man over age 18 who has/had sparse whiskers as an excuse for facial hair? And I'm talking about pretty sparse hair. I don't really get much of a stubble when I shave. I'm 19 and a half and I was always a late bloomer. But I started to get real facial hair at about 17, and gradually I got more, but then at about 18 or so the development just plateaued and it didn't seem like I was getting any more hair. My younger brother- who just turned 17- has just as much facial hair as I do. Please do not belittle me by telling me it doesn't matter, I have been told that too many times. I don't like it when people guess that I'm 15 or 16 years old when I'm a sophomore in college. The answers I would really like to hear are from people who have had personal experience with it; i.e: either you or someone you know has/had the same issue.

My facial hair was the same exact way. It started growing in when I was seventeen but the next few years went by, the facial hair was patchy. If I let it grow out I look like a mangy bum. Hopefully it will grow in more. I am 25 and my chin and mustache hair are still developing. My mustache hair has always been very fine a blonde. But even in the last few weeks some of the hair there has begun to turn darker and thicker.

I am 27 now and do not have the most full facial hair as in my goatee does not connect all the way. I look back at pictures when I was just 20/21 and see that I had a small amount of facial hair and it mostly consisted of a light mustache and some chin hair. This year is the first time I was able to complete the chin strap. Just give it some years. For future reference, shaving is annoying, in my opinion.

At age of 16 i experienced a full grown mustache on my face..
But many of my friends don't even have a full grown mustache even at the age of 20..
It really differs from people to people...

It's normal. In my mom's family, all of the guys have little facial hair. I've also got a few friends that have only shaved once or twice at 20.

So far as I can tell, it fills in a little bit slower and grows slower, but is completely normal other than that.

Very normal. When I was 19, I knew of plently of guys with not much facial hair. Others could grow full beards - it varies. Some guys are just not very hairy either, which is also normal. Men's facial hair does definately get thicker with age. Most men will have more at 30 than they did at 20.

  • Your facial hair will get thicker as you age, it doesn't stop filling in until your 40's.

Do you have any Native American in you? I know a few men who have very little body hair and the common factor is native blood.
