Inn - vivid dreams that stay in my mind for a long time

Due to my sleep deprivation I occasionally go through elaborate and vivid dreams that I will think about for days on end. They're weird, random, creepy, and I frequently wonder as to what they mean. Is it normal that I'm so caught up in my dreams? Long story short there was one where I allowed this kid to die and I thought about it for ages because I found it creepy and actually felt guilt... that's just one of them.

  • I'm pretty obsessed with my dreams too. Even to a point that I revolve a large portion of my waking life around them.

    • How so? Just thinking about them?

      • They effect me in quite a few ways besides thinking about them. I can give a few examples.

Sometimes dreams can give me advice for what I should do in real life.

I am a musician and write songs in my dreams that I will recreate when I wake up.

I keep a dream journal and write down my dreams.

I learn things from what I do while dreaming, just like I do when I am here.

The only thing I don't seem to be able to do is bring items from my dreams back to here.

I feel very in touch with my dream self. Many things I do in real life I do because I dreamed it.

I use personas based off myself in dreams.

        • Very interesting. I am the opposite; I would hate to associate myself with what I dream. It's what I am trying to shake off. However, the more I try to suppress certain thoughts, the more paradoxical it becomes.

          • I feel no difference between my dreams and here.

  • You think that dream is creepy? Feel lucky you haven't taken a stroll through my dreams.

    • There's more, but I'd rather not dwell on them.

      • Why not dwell? The horrid dreams are always the most interesting.

        • Because my logic and emotions are not sufficiently separated in a way that presents me the will to dwell.
