Influence of television on society

What ever happened to those tv shows, the cartoons we grew up with ? (Adams family, Get smart, bugs bunny, sesame street) Those were the days when we said good morning to a stranger, there was respect for the next man.

Today is crime, blood, murder, jerry springer. Those tv shows of today make people mean, selfish, skeptical about everything. If a father hugs his daughter she feels uncomfortable , etc. wtf ?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Affect is a verb, and effect is a noun.

Too bad society favors that trash on television and internet. Just depressing. I do agree that TV and internet does have an influence on society as a whole but not individually. If TV shows have bad manners, they tend to carry into society and the same is true if good manners and attitudes toward each other are displayed. PBS has shows that show good examples of that especially in children's programming. I wish manners and common sense would be more favored values.

It's mainly because everything has been politicized. Most shows, even children cartoons, are trying to convince viewers to follow their viewpoints.

That's more related to the influence of the internet and all these dumb, hateful political / social groups that have recently surfaced as a result. Who the hell is still watching jerry springer other than 40+ year old trailer trash
