In what person does your internal dialogue speak?

When you are talking in your head, in what person do you speak? For example, when reminiscing would you say: yeah, you really showed ole Sally how to do the charleston. Or: yeah, I really showed ole Sally... Do you stick to one perspective or ever catch yourself switching it up?  Do you change it depending on the situation you are speaking of? How much you want to distant yourself from the thought? Or depending on whether you identify with the thought as being typical of your character? You'll be handsomely rewarded for your participation in my study, leave your address.

1st (i) 48
2nd (you) 19
3rd (he, she, they) 8
Mixture of 1st and 2nd 49

My inner voice is second person. Damn I just formulated my reply in first person and realised I've voted incorrectly. Chalk another up for first and second.

My internal voice speaks in 1st person almost exclusively. Picture J.D.'s daydreams and inner voice from scrubs. My head works very similar to this!

Mixture of first and second, then third only for comic effect. I do actually like my inner voice to amuse me.

    I switch between 1st and 2nd.

    "I'm such a loser"
    "What are you doing?"
    "I'm so talented!"
    "You're a nice guy"

    etc.

I think it depends. When I'm being self-critical it's more likely to be first, when I'm feeling good about myself it'll be second.

More likely than not I don't have an internal dialogue or monologue at all, I just sit down, close my eyes and think about whatever it is that other people would be talking internally to themselves about. It doesn't come in an auditory way :P

This one thinks of herself in many ways. This one considers the question carefully. This one decides to go with 4.
