In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?

I have access to all of the knowledge stored in the dusty libraries around the world; everything I ever wanted to know is at my fingertips & instead, i just googled "startled cat compilation," and I was pleased!

A place where it's easy to find whatever you want, but difficult to get what you actually need.

Well it depends on the person and what they look up. For me it would be 'educational', but perhaps not for others.

It's impossible to find answers to my questions.

It's like a refrigerator; you got the fresh produce (new ideas, new movements, undiscovered bands/artists, etc.), the moldy produce (toxic forums, trolls, spam text, etc.), and that blast of cool air (logging in) that is inviting every time.

There were hopes that the internet would be a place of freedom outside the capitalist consumer society we exist within but it has ended up just being monopolised and controlled like everything else by a few large corporations. I actually despise it almost as much as mainstream media and television these days.

Depends what you use it for. It's interesting reading these responses as they indicate to a certain extent what people are looking for and the kind of person they are.
