In one sentence, how would you sum up the internet?

So, if you had to sum up the wonderful and weird world known as the internet in one sentence, what would it be?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I have access to all of the knowledge stored in the dusty libraries around the world; everything I ever wanted to know is at my fingertips & instead, i just googled "startled cat compilation," and I was pleased!

There's a video doing the rounds of a guy who got startled by a cow and screamed and it startled the cow who also screamed and plopped down on its bitch ass. It's hilarious

A place where it's easy to find whatever you want, but difficult to get what you actually need.

I think that's just on the user for finding what they need, it's not the internet's purpose it's the self that finds purpose.

A new medium with enough complexity to assimilate individual human ingenuity while stumbling over the pathetic lack of social efficiency that has plagued humankind since the beginning of time.

Well it depends on the person and what they look up. For me it would be 'educational', but perhaps not for others.

It's like a refrigerator; you got the fresh produce (new ideas, new movements, undiscovered bands/artists, etc.), the moldy produce (toxic forums, trolls, spam text, etc.), and that blast of cool air (logging in) that is inviting every time.

There were hopes that the internet would be a place of freedom outside the capitalist consumer society we exist within but it has ended up just being monopolised and controlled like everything else by a few large corporations. I actually despise it almost as much as mainstream media and television these days.

Depends what you use it for. It's interesting reading these responses as they indicate to a certain extent what people are looking for and the kind of person they are.
