In local elections, i often will vote for the underdog party

When I used to live in a very Republican area (Orange County), I'd often vote for Democrats in their local elections. Of course I won't pick any random Democrat.. I'd be a bit biased and pick a Democrat with views that I at least somewhat liked, even if I honestly thought the Republican was better.

Now, I live in San Francisco which leans very heavily towards the Democrats and I'd vote for mostly Republicans to be elected to their local government.

I'm a Moderate and I don't really subscribe to either party but I believe that competition between the major political parties helps make the world a better place and I'd hate to see either party dominate over the other.

I often vote for the underdog. Specifically, I often vote for the person who is not in office at the time. Politicians make a career out of being in office. It is not suppose to be that way. Vote them all out and continuously get new blood in office.

I usually vote for the person that's not an "incumbent" especially if it's for a seat as a judge or city council. I like to try and give others a chance.

Voting doesn't make any difference if it did they wouldn't let us do it.

But I do envy you living in SF I love it there makes me feel so creative just being there but its soooo expensive. How do you afford it?
