When I think back on some of the things that I have done and situations I have willingly put myself into. The only explanation is that I must have thought that I was immortal. Having kids will definitely CHANGE your perspective! Take on a task like saving for retirement or trying to give everyone in the world a hug, and you will quickly see that there is not nearly enough time immortal or not.

Ok I am a Christian and I have what I think is a motto sorta but idk. This is how I think of it "people are immortal, not by the body, but by the sole", or spirit which ever you like best. But I think of this because. Your body may die but your spirit will continue to live and be lifted into heaven unless you sin... Then oh well. :P

I wish I was an elf. I'm sure somewhere that in the cosmos are races that have discovered the secrets of immortality.

Your physical human body is mortal and will die but you can prolong it, which could be called immortality in a way. Living a couple of hundred years doesnt even begin to show the real human potential.

No and I don't think it's a good mindset to have. I can say certainly you are not immortal, every human has to die eventually.
