“Peaches come from a can, they were put there by a man, in a factory downtown...”
Good effort, but it is beans ON toast. Never beans and toast, or beans n toast. Always ON.
Nah, I'm northern. Although my accent is fading. I haven't lived in the UK for a long time. I can't say I miss it much but I do still have beans on toast sometimes :)
Snap! Northern Brit expat here too. And I get what you mean about the accent thing.
No, it's always beans on toast. The "n" sound would mean and or an, and an English person from any part of the country would never say that in this context.
Although I suppose a lot of English accents may sound a bit like they are just making an "n" sound when they are saying on because we all tend to speak very quickly... But I promise you they are always saying beans ON toast.
I'm not a fan of any fruits or vegetables. I find fruit more tolerable due to its sweet taste.
I love some fruit, the sweetness is just as good as any candy, like pineapples, grapes, or any kind of berries, blueberries, strawberries. I agree with you on the vegetable part though, like broccoli, tomatoes, or lettuce, I have no desire for them and will always pull the lettuce and tomato off a burger before eating. I don't like plain raw tomatoes, but I love almost any sauces made from them; pizza or pasta sauce, bbq sauce, taco sauce, ketchup, etc.
Canned fruit usually have too much sugar for me and other canned food too much salt as well.
The problem with fresh pears is that they go through a sequence of being rock hard, ripe for about five minutes, and then turning to mush.
Canned pears are the only pears I'll bother trying to eat. I don't find them flavourless, but I'll grant that they aren't as good as a perfectly ripe fresh pear.
Most canned vegetables are soggy mush, but legumes are fine.
Yeah, timing is crucial and hard to manage with fresh pears, but it's worth it if you get it right. I've learned to only buy two at a time and from a fruit stand, where they're much more likely to be fresh than from a supermarket, but to watch the bloody things daily, then grab them and gobble them up before they go mushy.
