Im going to burn it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im seriously ripped....

I work at a restraunt where one waitress, and one cook are on each shift. Today I worked at 11am, so I was there at 11, but had to wait for someone to unlock the doors. It's 11:15 and they still aren't there.(it happens EVERY MORNING!!!!)

Then the boss's wife comes and says, I dont want you to work now, i want you to work tonight. I said no, I need more notice, I have plans. (i made them over two months ago, knowing i got out of work by four thirty)

So she says go home, I will call you when I want you to come in. I asked her why she didnt call me a half hour ago, so I didnt have to walk in the snow and then walk back. She said, that I really have to be able to work saturday nights. I dont HAVE to work sh1t.

I got this job with the understanding of the shifts I could and couldnt work...and its rude to tell me I HAVE to work a certain shift.

And I'm sorry but I have had these plans for a very long time, and I'm not going to let my friends down by saying we cant go, after two months of waiting for a day we all could do it.

Am I in the wrong??? I really dont feel like bending over backwards for people that wouldn't do it for me. And that are extremely self absorbed and rude. Im going to get a new job... i think.

Im a 19yr old girl. btw.

  • QUIT.
Bosses wives cause more problems at work then anything. You already had plans and if they knew about them then they are in the wrong. I would go down there and tell them you cannot work for un reliable bosses anymore and find and job else where. Go out with your friends and have fun.

In this recession, all I can say is SUCK IT UP. In any other economic circumstance, I would say quit, but now, you need a job as bad as everyone else.

  • I work casual for this very reason now. When I was permanet I gave my boss 6 months notice that I would need a month of in January. At the works christmas party he told me I couldnt have it off I said I gave you 6 months notice I wont be here in january so do wht the fuck you like. I had the time of and still kept my job. Dont let these cunts push you around theyll all try it if they can get away with it. Dont do anything to the resaurant try and leave on good terms a resume is very important these days and you will leave a lot of jobs befor you find the right one so try and keep a good work record

sounds like you need to get an education so you wont have to be treated like shit by some guy who cooks greasy burgers for a living.

dont burn the place down, before you quit put something like some of your own feces in the food so everyone will get sick and the place will be shut down.

    • We only got a couple of feet but they are expecting blizzard conditions by 11 pm mountain time. I guess we are in for one hell of a wind storm.

        • We have been in a drought since 1998 so this is very welcome weather. It wasn't looking like we were going to get any up until the last couple of weeks so hang in there you might get surprised.

Haha. Then again, that might just get you fired and with no good references for all of your hard work.

Fuck the boss' wife and start a snowplowing business. Especially this year, when we're having the worst winter in ages.

I work in a restraunt part time. My boss knows that if something in my life comes up then he will just have to let me do it. You need to let the boss know that you are more important then anything they say.

  • Tell her to take her job and shove it up her ass!! She could have given you the same common courtesy as she expects from you. Besides that what kind of business opens 15 minutes late all the time? When i go to a store that is supposed to be open at 11 it better damn well be open or they are going to lose a customer.

Unless you really need this job until you can find another one i would tell her to kiss off and go have fun with your friends!
