Im afraid birds will peck my ears off

i have to duct tape my ears down or else im afraid birds will rip them off. it happened to my great grandmother. Im really freaked out there are many turkey vultures near my house, supposedly these are the same birds that found my grandmother. is this normal? is anyone else worried?

I consider it normal, don't worry. Being paranoid is normal, but this is an abnormal paranoid thing. I still consider it normal. Just face your fear, it will allow you to feel better.

Well, they have attacked people before, and certain species of bird are known to be very vicious. So its legitment to have a fear of birds, but why not just wear a hat?

Families have histories and often certain family stories get passed down and sort of mix with the normal fears of childhood and take on a life of their own..duct taping your ears is starting to cross that line into phobia...as turkey vultures are scavengers and carrion feeders and are not raptors which need live prey...even if you laid down they can tell your still alive and would not bother you...you also said they "found" your grandmother..was she already dead?....they will feed on a dead carcass...that is their job

Don't live life afraid! Your grandmother could have done something to make the turkeys do that to her. Or something was wrong with those birds...
