Im addicted to Trad music
I sleep eat and breath it.I hum tunes out loud in my house and my parnts freak out and go ballistic.I bang beats on the the table while i eat my dinner.All my Bezzie mates are into Rihanna and MTV etc.Im into Matt Molloy and Kieran Hanrahan.I play The FLute and Banjo and I am all ireland Champion on the Flute is this normal

When I was young I loved my trad stuff
But then I left it alone
I lived without it for some years
As if I never had known
I was so pleased, I was relieved
I shouted with glee
Thank God I can’t hear those awful songs
For they are not for me
Then I started to get unwell
Couldn’t work out what was wrong
Get away from me I would yell
Ignoring the call of the song
I bought up half of Sonic Boom
And half of HMV
That has all been boxed up now
For trad it was for me
So when there’s a band playing you do know
Don’t do the same as me
I have to say that you must go
I’ll tag along with thee
No younger ones know what it is
But I paid a massive fee
And when I saw my first folk gig
I cried and cried with glee
How is it I ne’er went before
For this it was for me.

I’m willing to bet your friends who’ve never heard of this will more than likely get tired of stuff they like (not that I don’t like that too) –- you can’t go off a good song!
