Iln the diet that i'm on?

Is my diet normal? I regularly eat the following:

Breakfast - cereal + juice
Preferably a sweet cereal or Weetabix. Juice is usually a brand like Tropicana or Innocent. I try not to drink more than a small glass of these a day because they are very expensive brands.

Lunch - skipped often, but hopefully will have instant noodles and some cheap brand water juice. If I'm getting food at college it will probably be a portion of potato wedges.

Dinner - varies but common meals are pizza
and chips, chicken and chips, a simple curry, or a simple pasta

Snacks - lots of hot coco and a bag of popcorn. Pretzels if there are any around. If I'm lucky I'll have fruits in the house. I occasionally eat apples, bananas and raisins as snack food

I tend to drink too much coke but I'm trying to cut back. I can't cook. Any nicer meals are prepared for me by family. I'm a college student so that isn't often.
I'm very thin but recently I've put on a little weight. I have very recently had this constant food baby stomach and I don't like it. I know my diet contains some very unhealthy foods (like the instant noodles) but I'm a very picky eater, so finding alternatives is difficult.
So, is my diet normal? Comment if you have any healthier suggestions!

Being completely honest, I believe your diet sucks. I don't think you are ever going to lose your stomach fat by eating pizza, chips and skipping lunch. There are so many other yummy healthy choices! And even if you find healthy food boring or tasteless, after eating it for a while you'll find it delicious I promise. And you'll feel so much better!
My advice would be something like this:
Breakfast: oatmeal, fat free or non diary milk, whole wheat toast or pita bread, hummus, avocado, pancakes, egg white omelette. (Any of this options, combined or modified)
Morning snack: fruit, nuts, rice cake with pb, carrot sticks, you get the idea.
Lunch: veggies and protein (fish, chicken, quinoa, soymeat, beans, low fat meat, ham, feta cheese), and hopefully some kind of grain.
Snack: toast, yogurt, apple, microwave popcorn, salad..
Dinner: Similar to lunch, maybe a little lighter.
    Good luck :)

      Bleh! Those foods! D:
This could be hard to change... I hate oatmeal but I could substitute that for Weetabix maybe? I love that stuff. Eggs are fine and so is mulk.
For fruit I'll eat apples, bananas and raisins. I actually just had some right there. Lunch is whatever is in the house for me, I can't stand fish or beans but chicken is great as long as I have the time to prepare it.
Microwave popcorn as a snack? Perfect! I love that stuff with a passion!
I actually have heavier dinners than I do lunches, so I'd probably switch those meals around.

Agree with all of the above. You need fruit and veggies for their nutritional values and fibre, to stay regular. Could you not take some cooking classes from your mum or your nanna? Theyre usually free and the food will be closer to the palette you're already used to. You may enjoy it.

Actually I have taken a few cooking lessons from relatives in the past. I just can't seem to cook without the guiding hand, I keep messing it up.
My diet is a lot better than this when I'm not in college, but since the college term recently started again, this is what I've been eating.

How much of these things are you eating?

Pizza probably about once a week. Chips maybe two or three times a week. I've cut down on coke but I still had about 3 cans this week. Hot coco, 2 cups most days (I love that stuff). Popcorn on most days too. Pasta about once a week. A rice dish about once a week. Other meals I mentioned I'll eat if I have access to them.
The worst part is probably the instant noodles. They're 3 or 4 times a week, if I'm in college.

        What are the serving sizes?

Hmmm... When I have pizza I'll eat between 3 and 5 slices. About half a plate of chips. Full serving bowl of popcorn. Standard plate of pasta/rice. I'm known for eating small portions, I get full very easily and I usually fair better if I eat small amounts frequently rather than big meals over long gaps.

Hmm. Pizza is pretty high in calories (usually 250 to 500 calories a slice), so 3 to 5 pieces is quite a bit.

Overall, it sounds like too much to me, but I don't eat enough, so I'm not sure. It also depends a lot on your activity levels, height, and weight.

I assume that by "chips" you mean what we call "fries" in America (Dappled informs me that there are differences between what's called "chips" and what's called "fries" in the UK, but you get the idea, I hope). I'm not sure how big your plate is, but it sounds like you're eating chips way too often.

I know it's not always practical to get fresh fruits and vegetables. You could get brown rice, frozen vegetables (I like a mix of carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower), and a teriyaki or other sauce. Cook the rice (you can make a lot of rice ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator to save time), microwave the vegetables, and mix them together. Then add a tablespoon or two of the sauce. If you like spicy food, it's really good with sriracha (rooster sauce!), too. Add a few almonds or some diced mango if you're feeling fancy.

Actually I too don't eat enough. What I listed might seem like enough but that's just what I eat regularly (like at least once a week). I'm slightly below average height and very thin. My activity levels are also quite low. Minimal workouts and I spend most of my time on a computer for college.
Yes, by chips I meant fries. I live in Ireland and they're refered to as chips over here. I'm aware I eat chips far too often but they're just so easy to prepare and the laziness gets the best of me!
I don't like spicy foods except for the odd curry, but you've made me think of a stir fry. Which I love. So I should try making one of those sometime. I cant stand vegetables on their own, so being mixed into dishes like that is vital to me! :S

I'm so thin and a picky eater too and If i ever gained weight i'd be so screwed because i don't like healthy food lol... But try not to eat pizza eveyr day? I'm sure that's bad. So yeah, me, as a picky eater, i eat pasta. and i know that pasta without sauce is better! i also eat loads of rice and fish, and yeah cereal for both breakfast&snack at like 5pm.

The more natural and unprocessed you can make your diet, the better. That's a nice, simple rule of thumb to eat by.

You could stand to eat more fresh fruit and definitely more vegetables. It doesn't have to be unpleasant (I'm not the biggest fan of certain veg that are good for me).

One of my tricks is vegetable soup (no cooking skill required, just boil and blitz) and then flavour it with curry spices and chilli. It's like drinking a curry sauce but it's *really* good for you. Just vegetables, water and spices. There's no bad stuff in there at all, only good stuff. Not many calories, loads of vitamins (you don't throw them away with the water like you do when you boil veg) and it's yummy. Or you can make it thicker and actually have it as a curry sauce with lean meat and rice. Very healthy balanced meal all round and still tastes good.

You could probably do with more pulses too (a nice bean salad with vinaigrette, or bean soup, or bean chilli, or tarka dall) and some roughage (tuna salad sandwich on granary bread, porridge, baked potato).

You can make your own drinking yoghurts too with low-fat natural yoghurt, fresh fruit, and a blitzer.

These are just suggestions that appeal to me, and may not appeal to you, but you get the idea about being able to eat very healthily without really noticing you're missing out on certain things.

I love veg soup like that. Now that its fall I'll be making a ton of them. I just had one the other night. It was so tasty. Ahh, first one of the season was sweet potato, onions, garlic, shallots and corn with salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne and cumin. Sweet and spicy. So good!!! I felt like sharing that :)
