Iis not wanting to talk about insecurities

I dont feel like talking about how bad I feel with others because I assume they will think that im just desperate for compliments, I actually feel bad I dont want to get compliments out of pity but because they actually think I did a good job, this is not just about beauty, or my body its about cleverness, productivity, talents etc. Is it normal ?

Yeah, totally understandable. I don't feel insecure in myself at the moment, but I still have flaws and I don't mind talking about a lot of them. However, because people are so lovely they usually respond by being nice and complimenting you; and as sweet as that is, it does seem like you're fishing for compliments. Sometimes it's just nice to talk about the bad things about yourself.

I don't think it's necessarily out of pity, by the way. When I see someone I like being negative about themselves, like many, the first thing I want to do is tell them that that's not true and that I think they're great. It's not pity, it's just the truth. It can be a bit tricky, though, because sometimes complimenting someone can show a lack of empathy, like you're dismissing their problems because you don't agree that they even exist. Ehh, I don't know. If they're being sincere, then the best thing is probably just to say thanks and be happy that you have people in your life who want to make you feel better.:)

They are called insecurities for a reason of coarse it's normal! However sometimes it helps to get them off your chest which makes websites like this pretty helpful..
