Now, I have a decision to make and really I don't want to go but.. for my 21st my auntie has invited me to a week away to lanzarote.

My two aunties are going and both there daughters and one is married with a child so obviously her husband and child.
But one aunt and cousin is only staying for a week and I would be too.

Now most of you will say yes why not jump to the offer, but I am not good at staying away from home at all, and im not really close to any of them, and never know what to say, plus I'd feel bad for leaving my dad to run the business.

It just doesn't feel like my cup of tea, I know I'd miss home, but I feel awful saying no. Then if I said no I'd regret it. My mum was like its up to you, then she makes me feel worse saying things such as ' you never do anything' and all that shit, she always puts me down so..

Any ideas :D

    Go, dear child. You'll soon begin to regret time not spent with family and opportunities not taken. I thought I'd never be close to my aunt and now that i've started talking her more i really wish I'd put in the effort sooner. The awkwardness will fade.

      But I'll get there and be home sick :/ I don't fit in with that side of my family.. They're only asking me cause there is a bed in the villa that isn't being filled.

    Lanzarote is an incredible island and as close as one can get to a moonscape on earth. The food there is wonderful, if you like seafood and there are a lot of things to do if you are into outdoors activities like hiking, biking, sailing and swimming.
    I'd imagine it's got lots of other activities, though it is much less "touristy" than some of the other Canary Islands.

    Go. Have new experiences. And go ahead and try to ignore your mom, if she wantes good things for you she would probably be as supportive of you going out into the world as the random people on the internet. And it sounds like she bitches at you a lot. Maybe shes mad bc she wasnt invited. I used tk get stressed when people bitched but now i usually just dont respond. Teaching them that i wont deal with their nonsense. Go, have fun. Have experiences. Live life. And im sure your dad will be fine. Its only like a week or two.
