Is it normal wife drinks a bottle of wine almost everyday

Being an alcoholic has nothing to do with the amount you drink. It has to do with a dependency and an inability to stop. When she doesn't drink does she appear to experience uncontrollable cravings or withdrawal? Does it affect her life in anyway? If not, than she is just someone who enjoys wine and not an alcoholic. Different people have different tolerances to alcohol. I rarely drink anymore, but I could down a bottle of wine and not even get buzzed.

That being said. That much isn't necessarily healthy or the best thing for her liver. But there are a lot of things people consume that are unhealthy in large amounts, so that is a separate issue to me.

That's alot to drink in a day, every day. She's pushing it.

That's a lot of alcohol, she must never be completely sober. Her liver is going to pack up one day if she doesn't stop or cut down considerably

It's not healthy and it's not good that she must escape into a bottle every single day, rather than face her problems. If you care for this woman, you two need to get to a councilor and figure out why she's drinking so much.

I drink red wine just like that. A bottle or more every day. And then I either get angry over nothing or cry over nothing. I'm trying to cut down. It isn't healthy.

She's probably an alcoholic but if she just gets mellow I don't see the big deal. I drink everyday almost to calm my anxiety.

My mom's friend had liver and kidney failure from drinking a bottle of wine everyday. If she wasn't extremely wealthy she wouldn't have gotten donor organs in time and would be dead now.

She is definitely as you've been told, a high functioning alcoholic. This isn't a good thing. She's going damage her body with such high amounts of alcohol. My beloved maternal grandfather was this way. He had an important job working for the government, but he was a functioning alcoholic. My grandmother has told me that on the weekends he would go through a case or two, and then have to miss work on Mondays due to a hangover. He is dead now and I miss him greatly. It was complications from his liver, and his heart. Please, don't take this lying down. You must get her help. Stage an intervention. I don't want you to be robbed from getting to spend more time with her and I don't want you, and her other loved ones, to have to deal with seeing her dying in the hospital.

I don't think she is an alcoholic unless she has a dependency for wine . If she can not live a day without it , she definitely is . I don't think this is healthy in this amount though so it seems like something to get a handle on .

Talk to her about it.
