Is it normal we should stop animal trophy hunting?
Every year heartless hunters from the west go to Africa to kill Innocent endangered animals (like elephants, rhino, hippo, giraffes, zebras, etc) just for the fun of it. It could have been justified if it was for food, but its not, its human addiction to violence. Some advocates try to justify this that hunting allows to help save the animal population. This is a most ignorant and manipulated claim and is groundless with no statistical justification. Instead statistics shows that the world's elephant population declined by 97% from 1900 to 2000 due to the hunting. Most elephants were hunted just for their tusks sold into the market, and its a shame on us that our greed to prize such has led to such a loss of life, while others were done for human settlements to areas that belonged to them. Do these poor animals who never harm us not have the right to live like us? Does it make them feel brave and doing something glorious, shooting these unsuspecting animals from the behind, if they want to be all so macho why not engage in a one on one combat with a gorilla and then demonstrate their bravery, but they woulnt because they know that would have their limbs torn up, so they kill them with guns like cowards even though the gorilla would never harm a human unless the humans attack first. How would we feel if they started to use guns someday and came hunting us killing our elders and our children? The human population is 8 billion, no other mammals have such a high population over a billion (thnaks to human induced violence, killings, settlements, etc over the last millennium) other that cattle, but even they have it at 1.5 billion, humans are almost 8 times higher.
We make laws to protect criminals, mass murderers, serial killers and so many other evil humans who deserve the capital punishment despite their evils and harms that they have done to us, so why not those poor innocent animals that never harm us if we just leave them alone. Just because they are not humans doesnt mean they dont have the right to live, the right to raise their families, the ability to feel pain. Humans have caused more wars, violence and destruction in the world than any other beings and yet we claim to be the most civilized and rational beings in the world, and our blood thrusts do not stop, we have reduced warfare on our own kind in recent years, the UN was mostly established for human rights, yet our blood thirst continues with our fellow beings and there is no such global body to protect animal rights, only few minor animal rights activist groups whose voices are rarely heard. We talk of rights for furry, but when it comes to the actual animal, our attitude is "meh". If any population needs to be reduced, its the ever growing human population and we should hunt our own kind than those innocent endangered animals!!!!
