Is it normal to wonder why you die from a bullet to the brain?

I know that you're almost certain to die for a bullet in your brain, like if you took me hostage and put a bullet through the side of me head, I could pretty much be guaranteed that I would die, but I do realise some people survive them, especially if it only skims their skull, what I'm wondering is what causes you to die if you get a bullet in your brain, what thing causes it, is it the bullet itself? the path the bullet takes? etc

I also wonder what would the aftermath be, say I came back as a ghost, what would I feel? would I have a headache? would I have no memories if the bullet destroyed me ability to process memories? would I be staggering round like a drunk ghost if the bullet destroyed my motor neurons and the part of me brain which deals with balance? would I "feel" the bullet in my head?

I think if you get it in your temporal lobes you'll probably survive, but it'll mess with your personality.

Well, the path of the bullet will basically destroy everything it comes in contact with and your brain controls the entirety of your body. Destroy the brain, destroy the body.

I wouldn't worry too much about the aftermath. Just try not to get shot in the head, okay?

Ultimately, there is only one cause of death for humans and that is brain death. For example, Exsanguination (blood loss) =lack of oxygen to the brain. As far as dying from direct trauma to the brain, it really depends in which part is damaged, and if that part of the brain controls other vital bodily functions, or if said truma causes hemorrhaging and further damage to other areas of the brain due to accumulating blood.

Let's consider the obvious, you bleed to death. And, you are instantly unconscious because your blood pressure is zero.

Well, everything that is 'you', everything that defines your behaviour, your thoughts, your perception, is your brain.

I think in your case, a bullet to the head would do little or no damage at all, as it seems there's nothing in there. OMG, what a stupid question; perhaps it is really a cry for help.
