Is it normal to wonder what happened to old members?

When I see a question asked a few years ago on this website, I see some great comments by members, sometimes I am intrigued and then I click on the member's names and the profile shows they haven't made any more comments in the past 5 or 6 years. So I start to wonder why they left the site and what made them leave. Or what they are doing now.

      I've been here about a year so I don't know most of the old members but they seemed to be interesting people judging by their comments so I feel sad that a lot of them aren't around anymore. I keep thinking that maybe I will turn out like them.
