Is it normal to wish for an ebola outbreak?

Is it normal to wish for an epidemic of ebola in America? I heard about the ebola outbreak when my mom mentioned to me they were bringing people from Africa that had ebola to America for treatment. I immediately was consumed with all the ebola news i could read. I loved the panic of it all. Something completely out of human control.....fear in everyone. I was so excited when people began catching it here in America... I really hoped for an outbreak over here. I was very disappointed when we got it under control and strict protocols. is it normal to really desire an ebola outbreak in my country for entertainnment purposes?

  • My bf wants Ebola to get huge. He wants most of the population to die. He's German... Go figure

There was never an ebola outbreak. They just wanted people to pay attention to something other than what was really happening behind scenes

I have a friend who volunteered as a nurse out in Guineau, who saw first-hand the reality of the ongoing ebola outbreak.

I hope for a severe pandemic that renders 50% of the population sterile and for another 25% to be killed by shortened lifespans by a newly made disease that cuts their normal life span in half.

For us to finally have a healthy population of humans that's under a billion would be a huge miracle. We'd also need it to finally be a requirement for potential parents to need a lincence in order to have a baby. If adopting a child's a challenge, than so should be having a biological child. There should be a global 2-Child limit as well.

OP what happens if someone you love gets ebola? Or yourself...or perhaps you're so delusional you think you'd somehow be immune...Maybe you're just not thinking this through.

It's normal, in my opinion, to want something to happen that is out of the ordinary, no matter what it is. I've had my own "wishes", if you want to call them that, including an all-out war with North Korea, so that civilians may be called to arms for the war. My wish stems from the desire to be a part of something that will hold significance for ages. Your wish may stem from something similar, the "I was there!" wish. You don't really want an Ebola outbreak, you simply wish to be part of something significant.

Well, I do feel the same way because I srsly think that there are too many humans and we are obviously screwing the eco system badly. at this rate, we will all die anyway. I guess it is entertaining to watch everyone die, but that includes that fact that u will be happy even when u are one of the victims :D

  • I'll bet you would quickly regret your fantasy when it came around to you and people you know.
It is amusing to see society get so worked up over something stupid. Ebola was voted by in a poll to be the 8th biggest threat to America this year, which is just absurd. Out of all the problems people are paranoid about one of the most unlikely events, but it seems human nature to look for anything to fear.
However you should be careful what you wish for. There may be a day you realize you are not as badass as you think. I've noticed the people who claim to support suffering and hate are usually the first to back out when shit goes down because they are actually butthurt cowards with no real concept of what evil really is.

    • I never said i wouldn't panic along with everyone else if shit did hit the fan......I'm just curious to know how the end of civilizations as we know them are going to end. I believe the end is nearing........but yeah.....I also wish for other natural disasters, but that's just me.

Considering the fact I've felt the same way about there being outbreaks, I too want population reduction. However, since people don't accept diseases and try their hardest to prevent them/don't release the severe ones in public, the liklihood of the world's population reducing to a safer amount (for everyone to live 1st-World lives, there couldn't be more than 1 Billion with regulated family size of 2 kids per couple, 1 child per single person) isn't likely.

Unfortunately, humans are going to kill themselves off due to their own idiocy/not being more cautious and it won't be pretty. It's actually going to be alot worse for us than it needs to be. We're choosing inevitable extinction in favor of safe decline and stable replacement rates (Making people only live to 75 years of age would help too). I just hope nature spares it's wrath on those that do care (Myself and people that think the same as me).
