Is it normal to watch the sex youre having as opposed to looking @ your partner

I like to watch the actual sex I'm having (depending if this is physically possible from the position I am in) because it looks really hot/sexy, as opposed to looking at my partner (even if they are really good looking). Where are you meant to look anyway? I'm a girl by the way - if it makes any difference.
