Is it normal to watch something where you have no idea what anyone is saying?

Is it normal to watch something in a different dub and sub than what you understand(speak) and enjoy it. Even though you have no clue what anyone is saying but somehow still understand everything that is going on in the show? Like in anime/television from other countries.

Yes, you can actually learn a new language like that. My friend learned Tagalog from watching shows from that language.

    • I don't know. I watched 13 episodes and I don't think I learned anything. I understand some of the words but its the ones I already knew. I did learn things like kawiaa means cute though. Since they always say it when something adorable happens. I know hey say this is suppose to work but I don't think everyone is intelligent enough to learn something from nothing.

Yes, when we were little my sister and I loved the movie spirited away so much that we watched it in every language that was on the dvd lol. And the first time I ever saw Family guy was in Quebec (french) and it was maybe even funnier since there's only the visual jokes and no dialog to set them up so it more surprising/random.

I guess I know what you mean, like you can kind of just assume what they're saying based on their actions. Usually most hentai doesn't have subtitles but you can kind of just assume what they're saying and it's still somewhat enjoyable.
