Is it normal to want to talk and/or be around someone 24/7 when infatuated?

I'm curious to see what others think or want to do when they really have the hots for someone. I know when I was infatuated with a particular person for years , I just wanted to always hang out with her or talk to her but I couldn't :/
What do others do in situations such as these? If you have someone on your mind constantly, do you feel the urge to txt them or invite them to catch up ? Do you contact them regularly or are they just left on your mind ?

When I was infatuated, I only sometimes spoke to them 2
If someone's on my mind 24/7, I find I have to always talk to them 13

    I'm involved with a wonderful man who lives roughly 1500 miles away, and we talk for several hours each day, sometimes more than once a day.
