Is it normal to want to continue something that is stressful?

I have a mini game website that I worked really hard on, but it's really stressful because I always need to keep updating it and fix glitches and such. Now that school is starting my friends and family are telling me to quit working on the game and just be absorbed in highschool. Without school, the game has kept me locked away in my room for hours on end trying to program it and find people to play, and it really stresses me out to the point I can't hang out with family or friends because I keep thinking about all could go wrong while I'm not being an active admin. Even with school I feel I need to keep doing it even though it's so fucking stressful!! IIN?

We have a lot if indie developers hoping to get the most out of their sleepless hours. This developer from Vietnam (Flappy bird creator) started generating US$50,000 per day, just overnight. It's rewarding but painful. I don't think that's the way you should go, give it time, focus on school, family taking your mind off of it. You will also find it in yourself to manage your time accordingly.

Set up a schedule of when you can work on the game and when to focus on school. Just know how to balance the two.

You only have ONE important thing to do right now; school. Anything that interferes with your ability to do that as well as you possibly can, is a foolish endeavor. Close down the game until next summer and do your school work now.

  • It's normal to get stressed over these things and I think it is good to not give up. Creating things is one of the most important things we can do. Most people waste their lives on other people but those who create live forever in their creations.
