Is it normal to want somebody special to work hard before you star dating?

I like to play hard to get especially when I know he likes me :) It works most of the time because people like to chase (and i like to be chased). However, I screwed up with this last guy i was seeing...
So, my question is do you like to work hard for a somebody special before you start dating or is it really unnecessary?

    It's unnecessary, remember if you play too hard to get then us guys will just lose interest and move on :-)

    What the guy above said is true you should play hard to get I went from zero guys to more than I can handle by simply playing hard to get but you need to know the line and not play too too hard but if they start to lose interest than you need to beat them to it always be a step ahead anyway let this guy go but act like friendly not like you want him he may eventually come around
