Is it normal to want disabled people euthanized

I'm not talking about people that may have small difficulties getting on with their lives such as autism, people who may have lost a arm, leg, etc.

I'm talking about the disabled people who are literally vegetables who cannot move, speak, or function properly without a able-bodied person caring for them 24/7.

Not because I hate them, I judt feel so sorry for them to have to just sit there all day while a person cleans up after their waste and doesn't properly understand things and basically has the mentality of a three year old.

I feel like their suffering, as if I ever went through something like that I'd rather die then live my days out as mentally inept.

You always get stories on the news such as "down syndrome boy lives" or whatever, but I feel like they should be humanly euthanized as the only reason their living is because their family is selfish and doesn't want to let go of them.

I know I might sound really cruel right now, euthanizeing them would make me sad, but watching them live in such a state of mind where they can't even comprehend whats going on around them saddens me even more.

Unfortunately, the disabled also have human rights, you can not play god. In my opinion, human life is precious in all forms.
What if your mom was a vegetable, would you be able to let her go ?

Violent criminals are also humans, assuming you mean "human" in a biological way. Yet, most people (I'm proud to say I'm the EXCEPTION) have no problem sticking a needle into them. Why the double standards?

Damn it, I wanted to post something like this. Anyway, I totally agree with you. Besides not being able to be fully productive members of society, severely disabled people are constantly suffering every day of their lives, as well as causing their family members to suffer too. Why should we force them to constantly live lives of ailment?

On a separate note, if there ever is a cure for autism, for God's sake, release it! I know a lot of autism advocates don't want to be "cured," but again, why should they constantly have to live with adversity 24/7?

It may sounds cruel, but I completely agree with you. If I became a "vegetable", I would prefer me to be euthanized.

I agree with your story. My Mother and I have a deal that either of us end up in any state that we can not control our own functions, or bodies etc. etc. that we will "Unplug" the other. To live life in major pain and be totally subdued and out of it, on morphine or any other heavy drugs is not living.
I have throat Cancer and I'm 55. I had an operation that removed the cancerous tumor until 2 weeks later when it was over half the size of the one removed. Chemo-Radiation was next and that was so fuckin painful that I stopped the sessions just past half way. I was about to have a tube inserted into my stomach so I could "eat" the blended and pureed foods that used to taste so great as a meal. Also, for my pain, they took me off the morphine and gave me a Fentanyl patch instead. So if the cancer is cured, or goes into remission, I can then be a freakin heroin junkie. No Thank you. I was barely managing on my own at that point, and thought I'd be dead before the 2015-16 New Years Eve Party's. The very next day I felt better and I was getting better and heavier again. I was given a year to live, if I was Lucky. I will Not live like that again. The friends and family all agreed that they want the last memories of me to be when I am alive and well. I accept death as a part of life and I respect death. I do not respect those who refuse to let others pass on, because they think as long as there is juice into the brain, they are still living. FUCK PEOPLE... That is NOT LIVING!

I don't think its fair to think they would rather be dead just becos you do. If they can't communicate I think we have to let them live for us to stay human.

I kind of get what you are saying. I was about to go into attack mode when I read the title because I assumed it was another troll.

I worked in a nursing home that looked after people with disabilities and I'm telling you, they need to be put out of their misery. Some of them weren't even human any more
