Is it normal to walk into a restaurant job interview bare foot?

Here is the situation.
Someone is having a job interview at a restaurant about an hour away from their home. They get to the location and the whole sole comes off their shoe, its too late to buy another pair, bought some shoe glue but it won't stick. You call the person an try to cancel, but they insist thats its okay and "It happens to the all the time". They tell you to continue with the appointment. Do you walk into this Public restaurant with no shoes on -or- cancel/reschedule anyway?

I'd wear the shoes with no sole rather than go barefoot. I wouldn't even mention it unless the interviewer did. Most restaurants have a 'no shirt, no shoes, no service' policy, but it doesn't apply to no soles, I don't think.

I think this is a case when the Interviewer asserted power over the interviewee. If the person went they are most certainly very weak minded. The perfect candidate
