Is it normal to violently hate it when people mess with the radio/volume?

I can't stand it. When I'm in the car with someone (family, usually) and the radio's playing at an "easy" listening level. It's kind of like background sound and still allows conversation.
But, for some reason, someone always has to start gabbing and then turn down the radio. It pisses me off to no end. It usually doesn't matter what song is playing. It just irritates me. I really can't stand it when people constantly skip songs, too. They don't even let songs finish, they listen until the end of the first chorus, usually, and then skip to the next. I can't stand it and everyone I know does it. Particularly my mother, but I kind of understand with her (her hearing sucks ass).
But it's not just irritating. I, like, want to jump across the car and wring someone's neck. I'm kind of a hot-headed/irritable person, too, and suffer from terrifying mood-swings, so that definitely makes it worse.. Shit, just thinking about someone fucking with the radio (as I type this), I'm getting pissed.

So, tell me, do other people have this problem...?

yes, i agree, it is irritating. but, it is a minor issue, and if you can't deal with something so small, then maybe the radio shouldn't be turned on in the first place.

just so you know, the people around the "terrifying mood-swing person" are the real sufferers.

if this move you to violent hate perhaps... the problem isn't them.

sometimes part of growing up includes putting aside overreactions and understanding that not everyone sees things the same way you will and they won't care about a song on the radio the same way you do... nor should they think the same as you since they have other priorities

It's irritating, but to become violently upset over it is not normal. Have you ever taken an anger management course? Considering that you also mentioned mood swings, I hope you'll at least think about seeking help. Even if you never act in a violent manner, the fact that you feel these urges over minor irritations has to be mentally exhausting. Good luck.

I feel the same way, when I'm playing CD's at an appropriate level for conversation, I can't stand it when someone turns the volume down for no reason. Bugs the shit outta me.
