Because that's what my mother tells me, that she understands people who want to kill all jews, she does't agree but understands them. and it bothers me. I was just wondering if it's not normal, or if I'm just being oversensitive like she says I am.
There is a difference between understanding the mentality behind an extreme or hateful viewpoint and agreeing with it/condoning it.
For example, I understand why my grandparents dislike homosexuals from their religious perspective and from their cultural upbringing. But I do not agree with them or support them in their beliefs.
Understanding does not necessarily mean supporting or agreeing with something.
Some people just hate. And they look for an outlet of convenience to justify their hate. Look there's a Jew, look there's a (n word that I will not use), look there's a witch. you get my drift...
Understanding the problem is the key to solving it. You're not exactly being rational if you let your emotions dictate your entire opinion.
She might also feel this way due to what Israel has been doing to the Palestinian. You need to read about the Israeli government's war on Palestine and ethnic cleansing of non-Jews (Gentiles). Look up the war photos of Occupy Palestine. It's despicable what they've been doing. It's like the Holocaust, only in reverse.
Yeah just like I 'understand' if someone kills Hindus, Buddhists, sikhs etc. What's wrong with society?
Look up "the real reason for the holocaust" and it may give you some insight as to why she feels this way.
