Is it normal to turn in a bunch of money even though you found it in a gutter?

Not saying that I actually did that but I just want to see how many people would keep the money or turn it in. Yes, this question is based on an episode of Doug. He finds cash in a gutter, turns it into the police and everyone gives him a hard time about it because they would of kept the money instead. No one claimed it after 30 days so he was able to keep it but realized that it belongs to the old lady he met at the bank and without any info of where she lives he returns it to her on her doorstep. If you had that cash would you be Doug "The amazing honest boy" or whatever your name is "The rich old lady killer"?

    im the most honest person but if i find cash on the ground in the gutter well.....its mine now, now if someone drops their wallet in front of me ill pick it up and say " hey man you dropped this" if i know it belongs to someone then im not gonna take it but if no ones around, ill count it as a lucky day, ive gone so far as findin a wallet and drivin to the house that matched the address on the drivers license to return it, but straight cash on the ground and nobody is around thats what i call a "come up"

    I need food moniez, so I would definitely keep it. If it was 100k, I would turn it in though, as I am not fond of being stabbed to death as a result of finding someone's drug money.

    Yeah... Depends. It's no point trying to chase the owner of a few hundred, if you saw who dropped it then yes. If you don't know who did ... Meh yours to keep

    I remember this episode :) oh how things have changed!

    Id have too much of a guilty conscience to have anything to do with it, what if it was linked to a crime? Or a poor little old lady
