Is it normal to turn down a dinner invitation with a celebrity?

I won it in a contest, but I have to pay for a plane ticket and hotel. It's just a dinner with a couple of other contest winners and the celebrity, so I don't see the point. Not even interested in talking to him, really. I just don't care what he has to say.
