Is it normal to to pronounce the name spelled "stephen" two different ways?

There are many guys with the name "Stephen" and most of the time they grew up being called "Steevin" but some from time to time get adressed "Steffin" from time to time. Some accept it and some get aggrivated. Shoelud Men or boys with the name relate to both?

My uncle is called Stephen. When they were kids, my dad used to run around the house flapping his arms going 'STEP-HEN! STEP-HEN!'

      Ha, ha :)

I have been studying the "STe-PHeNoMenon" as of late because I am a Stephen by formal. It seems there has been a buckle down on the conservative renowned pronunciation "STEV-en" despite STEPH CURRY's rise to fame in the NBA. I was a staunch conservative crusader till I started to see a rising minority actually pronouncuncing it in blunted spelling pronunciation of "STeF-en" I have been made aware of this since I was Six y/o now I'm 43 at this post. Sadly those that were given the name as the blunted have been switching to "F" spelling variants. It usually mentions the Two pronunciations in Text Key models as most printed Baby Name Books have mentioned.

I have two friends both with the name Stephen both pronounced differently. Although neither care if they ever get mixed up, so I guess they're used to it
