Is it normal to think you're dumber than everyone else?

Sometimes, I let people talk me into believing in stupid shit, because I think that if I believe anything contrary to what this person is saying, it must be wrong because there's no way I could be right. Sometimes, even when I know I'm right, I don't bother disagreeing because I don't think I'm articulate enough to defend whatever I believe in, so I just kind of sit and remain silent whenever disagreements of any sort come up. I try to read books on various topics to enhance my understanding about things, but I always doubt my comprehension of the material.

If you let people talk you into believing stupid stuff then you are dumber...

Dont let people do that... if you are unsure of what they are saying you can go and do your own research on the subject. This will make you more intelligent. Google is right there for you to use... gather information..and ect. ..
layer if you find someone was wrong you can ask to discuss the topic with them again stating you were curiouse so you did some research...

If you are unsure about the material you can ask someone who knows the subject well...like a professional. .. to explain it to you more.

  • If you think you are dumb you manifest your own stupidity.

In reality, there's no way you could be "dumber" than everyone else despite what people tell you because everybody has their own perspectives or ways of looking at things. People have their own opinions, which doesn't necessarily mean they're right or wrong.

Maybe you have problems finding the right words to clearly get your point across? I wouldn't call that "dumb" though.

What you're describing sounds more like insecurity, fear of rejection and codependency than stupidity. Not that behaving in a codependent manner isn't stupid in and of itself, but it comes from an emotional place rather than one of reason. When you learn and know better you will do better.
