Can't speak for other cultures but I'll give you my two cents from an American perspective. To be honest, that is what we tell women they only have value in. Women are raised with this mentality that being pretty is better than being smart, funny, or brave. As if by being pretty you're automatically better than other people. As if by being pretty your life will be better than other peoples. I think that some women do rely on their looks a lot, but I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps they weren't taught any better.

I definetly think most women would have some sort of breakdown if men lost their sexual desire for them. I do think too many rely on the male sex drive and cnfuse it with their own appeal.

The reverse could be said as well. I know some guys whose whole lives revolve around getting girls, kinda of like Barney Stinson on HIMYM. If the reverse were to happen and women had no interest anymore in men then those guys would probably have some sort of breakdown.

I definitly think there will be men that are the same however I do think that women typically do get treated differently in positive ways due to men wanting to have sex with them more than the reverse happen that if men no longer desired them on average that it would effect women more than if the reverse happened as men typically have to do the proving to mate and women would then have to take over that role only to be shot down by it.
It reminds me of that whole experiment a lesbian woman done where she made herself look like a man and had to take over the role of seeking out romantic interest and due to the experiment as a whole, ended up depressed by living that lifestyle claiming that even in the department of romance women have it far easier. So if a woman isn't able to handle having to seek out romance like men do, imagine how it would effect them having to do it as a whole only to realize not even that would work.
Long story short, I agree but I definitely believe it would be harsher for women in these cases than men. Men have been known to adapt to situations where they can't get female sex and rely on other men. :)

if men are dumb enough to fall into this, and women have "control" of it, it's obviously the women who are running the world in your theory
but i disagree with both interpretations and agree with your main point, which is that it's bullshit that this happens
i'm a woman and i agree that women misuse this "power" to their advantage. i see it aaaaaaall the time. i would never do it. even though i have shit luck in many many other ways, i'm somehow a woman who's considered attractive, which i hate stating but is necessary only for my point: there are so many dumb fucks who think i should date them because they have a nice car or money. trust me, it'd be so easy to just milk the hell out of some idiot for gifts and vacations and houses because there are so many dumb (otherwise intelligent, some even brilliant) men who are ready to be used for sex with an attractive woman. but i can't overstate how much i just wouldn't do it. i think it's tacky and horrible form. and immoral. especially when huge surprise! the marriage falls through and they divorce and she takes half his shit.
it's a known fact that testosterone can cloud your thinking. i feel like it's taking advantage of a person who produces a lot of brain-clouding hormones in response to sexual stimuli and ideation. and that's what it is: taking advantage of someone who really can't reason for anything at that point except "get pretty lady on penis nao"
some women really are greedy and some men really are out for sex. thankfully there are those of us who do not fall into the same boring overdone gender stereotypes.
i'd rather be with an attractive guy i actually love than some mark with a fat bank account and a hard wiener and he wants to do me and i'm just like uhhhhhh heard there's some new stuff on netflix
