Is it normal to think there should be a death penality for child molestation?

People these days disgust me; they've become too tolerant and too passive. Folks like you, however, give me renewed hope for mankind.

I knew of a family... A friend really.
Her cousin was kidnapped and raped. She was later killed. They found the man that did it. That was the last I heard for months.

I remember coming to her house one day and asking if the police ever found the guy. She said that the police will never find him. I asked if she knew where the guy was and she told me "all over the county" and that her family handled it and there was nothing else that could be said.

It was a pretty redneck family too, but I have to appreciate that. The family that prays together, slays together.

Kill them? No. Castrate them/cut off their tits and sew up their pussy? Yes. Also they should be forbidden from wearing any cloths for the rest of their lives. I say make a lasting example of them.

I completely understand you! i've had this same discussion with my family, saying that if one of them was murdered or even worse, and the killer was let out only like 5 years later i would probably kill him/her. i know that sounds bad, but think about it..
these people are obviously psyco's that will just do it again once they're out of jail, i belive that nobody should have to go through that, and the family knowing that the killer of their be-loved family member is free again..
it would just be better for the whole world if these people were taken out, and i would pull the trigger with no hesitation to scum like that.
Having said that, i am the most peacefull person and Hate violence, but i consider myself as a 'protecter' i protect my family and friends with my life. i would Never throw the first punch, Ever.
A way to think about this is if you've played the game 'Bioshock', im like the 'big daddy' protecting the girl with my life.

Also in relation to this post, have you ever watched the Anime 'Death Note' i would strongly recomend watching that if you follow this moral subject.

Also, even though these people havent killed people personally.. thats right, Judges, law enforcers etc, people that clearly let the murderers and rapists free, or find them 'not guilty' or relse them on bail, when there is so much evidence on the killer, these people also need to be shot too, there is no hope in justice for the poor familys that deal with these people.

If people dont like my opinion, i dont care becuase i am me and haters gonna hate. im just someone who wants true justice on people that have obviously disregard for human life.
I belive in world peace, and quite frankly, we are not going to get there with these scum clogging up our prisons, so what do they do?.. relse them -__-
Also, again, i recomend watching the Anime 'Death Note' is this was real and i had the 'Death Note' (a book where if you write the name of the person you want to kill, and think of their face, they die) i would seriously do what Kira/Light Yagami (main character) does. (kill all the scum on the earth)

A lot of child molesters are killed in prison anyway. Even some of the toughest and nastiest of inmates have children on the outside, and they generally don't take kindly to it.

Seems the best way to die in prison is to be a cop or a child molester.

Problem is these people reoffend, Im dont like the idea of the death penalty in theory but when I try to think of someone doing that to one of my family I doubt I could control myself in that situation and I could kill them with no remorse. At the least I would suggest some kind of castration, if not actual castration possible chemical castration. BTW castration prevents future re offense.

Definitely normal. That kind of stuff permanently damages a child's psyche. Any sicko who can hurt a child like that deserves death, or at least having his/her genitals chemically made unusable.

No. Wishing death on someone, especially out of vengeance, is not normal.

There can't be a death penalty without double standard... and I don't think double standards are good... you either have to make killing legal or have no death penalty... both together makes no sense no matter what a human did it's still murder to kill him for that!

Lets keep in mind some of these guys were victims themselfs, is just a vicious cycle that never ends. I'm not exusing them for what they've done all I'm saying SOME not ALL should be put down.

A bastard once tried to molest me when I was a child but I was able to get away from there..I since developed huge hatered for molestors..they need to be hanged!

I think that at the very least they should have a big P tattooed on their forehead so that everyone knows what they are. They deserve to die, but killing is too good for them.

Heck, I believe that they should die the worst way: be put in a small room with the victims family. LOL

I think that's a normal kneejerk reaction, but I would hope anyone who knows a little about child abuse would understand why this is one of the least appropriate uses the death penalty ever.

The most obvious reason is that much abuse is committed family, and most people (including victims) would have a very hard time turning a family member over to be killed. This would add yet another reason to hush it up, as if that weren't a big enough problem already.

Good thread-I agree with you. I'm glad you pointed out the sharp distinct between two people just having sex (even if one happens to be a little underage) and violent pedophiles who kidnap rape, torture and kill children.

Often times I see people lump together the violent and non-violent together as if they're the same type of person.

I think however any person doing harming to a child or a grown woman in such a way deserves death.

Why do we treat rape as if it's some petty crime? It is as monstrous as killing for the destruction it causes to the victims.

Normal sane men who love women don't rape them because it is against every fiber of their being.

Of course such acts are even worse against children because they have absolutely no way of defending themselves.

There's a part where there's some gray area in this subject, but in the cases of violence against a child, it's pretty simple.

Normal. I don't think government should execute its people, but i certainly understand why for some crimes some people do.

Personally, I'm opposed to the death penalty. Killing pedophiles isn't justice, it's revenge. But it's normal that you feel that way. This is a very tricky subject, so feel free to disagree.

I agree. Either there should be a death penalty on earth or they should be Jettisoned into the cold darkness of Outer Space where they die of lack of oxygen.

I think the latter would be a better punishment.
