Is it normal to think that they should change the selected colors for kids?

Instead of blue being for boys and pink being for girls, red should be for boys and purple should be for girls. Or, they could make it how it was a long time ago: pink for boys (insert "real men wear pink!" here) and blue for girls. If you think they should change them too, what colors would you recommend?

    Why change them? Just abolish any connection of colour to gender.. it's completely pointless.

    Predetermined genetic predispositions to those colors have been selected based on their tendencies towards them at an early age; ultimately stemming from biological influence rather than any social fluke.

    Meh. I see plenty of girls/women wearing blue or pink and many boys/men wearing pink or blue. I don't think it's a big deal.

    I think they both should be grey. Only after they have determined their sexual orientation should they pick colors.
